le Grand to visit the war museum there and also see the
Pozières Memorial, which commemorates the majority of those
who fell on 21st March 1918. B
DAY 3: The Battle Area (included) Today we will follow some of the events
of 21st March, seeing battlefield sites and cemeteries largely

Wilfred Owen, and then move on to Manchester Hill where
we discovered the story of the Manchester Pals who defended
Manchester Hill to the last man with their commanding officer
Lt-Col Elstob, who would win a posthumous VC that day. We
then follow the area of the front line to Grand Seraucourt
British Cemetery, one of the most important in the area
connected with March 1918. At Vadencourt we follow the story
of Lt-Col Jack Dimmer VC of the King’s Royal Rifle Corps,
