The ‘Sound of Music’ city boasts medieval spires, lofty
fortresses and Baroque fountains. Explore the sights or
relax in a friendly café. In the afternoon you can stay
longer in the city, as the locals prepare for ‘Holy Night’,
or take a scenic excursion to the Salzkammergut Lakes (optional).

CHRISTMAS
DAY: Gisela Railway (included) We leave
for the Kitzbühel Alps and board the romantic Giselabahn
for a train ride between Kitzbühel and Zell-am-See through
superb mountain scenery at a leisurely pace. During the
day, you can also enjoy a traditional horse and carriage
ride (optional), before returning for a Christmas evening
turkey dinner at our hotel. B,D
BOXING
DAY: We travel
into Germany, visiting the medieval town of Rothenburg ob
der Tauber, with its quaint cobbled streets and well-preserved
buildings. Tonight, we stay in the Frankfurt area. B,D
DEC 27:
Rhine and Moselle Valleys (included) We continue
to the delightful Rhine and Moselle valleys, with a leisurely
cruise (optional) along the meandering Rhine to admire the
breathtaking scenery. Also, sample the delicious local wines
at the famous House of Anton Hammes at Alken (optional).
We continue to Belgium for an overnight stay. B
