Your Guide to the Christmas Markets of Valkenburg

Valkenburg's markets are unique! Set in the Gemeentegrot caves that were excavated under the town in Roman times, the atmospheric grottos are festively-decorated and illuminated by fairy lights, creating a wonderful atmosphere in which to buy local specialities.

Visit the Christmas markets, including entrance to the Town Cave (Gemeentegrot), the oldest and largest underground Christmas market in Europe. B,D

The old city centre of Aachen is home to one of the most spectacular cathedrals in Germany, the perfect setting for the festive Christmas market. B,D
