4: Krk Island Tour (optional) We explore the beauty of the largest island of the Adriatic. First we go by boat to the small islet of Kosljun, where we visit the Franciscan monastery, the greatest cultural and museum centre in Croatia. Then we visit Krk and stroll through the old town, with its ramparts, Frankopan Castle and Cathedral. Later, we visit Vrbnik, most famous for its white wine. You will have the opportunity to taste home-made prosciutto, cheese and wine in a traditional local tavern. B,D |

5: Rijeka and Opatija (included) First we visit Rijeka, a charming town with an historic port. The second part of the day leads us to Opatija, also known as ‘the Croatian Nice’, where you can take a walk along the seaside, ‘lungo mare’, and visit the Botanical Garden. B,D |
