FULL DAY Through the wooded heathlands of the New Forest, home to herds of roaming wild ponies and elusive deer, to the village of Beaulieu - "Beautiful Place" - site of an ancient monastery, which has been transformed into one of our foremost tourist complexes (admission included). This comprises the Palace House, with the National Motor Museum, housing a collection of some 250 cars and motorcycles, picturesque abbey ruins which have an exhibition of life in the Middle Ages, and a monorail ride. FULL DAY A memorable full day tour as we cross over to the Isle of Wight and take a circular tour around the coast. This will be leisurely, with suitable stops for sightseeing, including Alum Bay with its unusual multi coloured sand and chairlift to the beach, the south coast road past Blackgang Chine, through the resorts of Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown and Ryde and to Newport, the 'capital' and principal shopping centre. |
