DAY 1: UK to Paris area
To Dover for the sailing to Calais and on to our overnight hotel in the Paris area.

DAY 7: St. Nazaire to N. France
We travel to our overnight hotel in Northern France for dinner. (B,D)

DAY 2: Paris area to St Nazaire
A free morning in Paris then we journey to the Hotel Aquilon near St Nazaire. (B,D)

DAY 8: N. France to UK
From Calais to Dover and home. (B)

DAYS 3 to 6: St. Nazaire
At leisure with three included excursions. The dramatic coastline is dotted with magnificent sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, picturesque fishing coves and surrounded by a patchwork of marshes and saltpans. The market town of Vannes has a well-preserved medieval quarter and Guérande is home to 15th century walls, towers and gateways. Carnac is renowned as an ancient megalithic site. (B,D)

Full Day to Vannes, Carnac and Quiberond
We travel along the coast to Vannes, a picturesque old city with elegant shops, manicured gardens and traditional timbered houses. Carnac is an extraordinary megalithic site with standing stones to rival those at Stonehenge. We continue along the narrow Quiberon peninsula to Quiberon itself with a sheltered sandy beach.

Half Day to Guérande and Salt Marshes
We travel along the Atlantic Coast to Guérande, complete with 15th-century ramparts, walls and towers and surrounded by a moat filled with water. The surrounding area features a patchwork of salt marshes.

Half Day to La Baule & Le Croisic
We visit the seaside resort of La Baule with a fine sandy beach stretching five miles. Then we continue to the picturesque fishing port of Le Croisic, sheltered from the ocean by a headland.
