DAY 1: Home to Fort William
Our adventure begins as we journey north through the Borders into Scotland, travelling over the hauntingly beautiful Rannoch Moor and through Glen Coe before we reach Fort William. Here we’ll stay for two nights at the Ben Nevis Hotel.

 

DAY 2: We’re following the ‘Road to the Isles’
Today we’re in store for a sightseeing spectacular – sit back and relax as we journey along the ‘Road to the Isles’ past Glenfinnan to reach the West Highland fishing village of Mallaig. We then round the day off with a ferry crossing over Loch Linnhe.

 

DAY 3: From Fort William to Stornoway, visiting the Isles of Skye and Harris along the way
We bid farewell to Fort William and journey further north through the winding valley of Glenshiel, past the picturesque Eileen Donan Castle to reach Kyle of Lochalsh and the Isle of Skye. With views of the lofty Cuillin Mountains as our backdrop we travel across Skye to Uig, where we sail over to Tarbert on the Isle of Harris. After a short trip, weather permitting, to see the sound of Taransay, we head on to the Isle of Lewis and Stornoway, where we enjoy a three night stay at the Caladh Inn.

 

DAY 4: Exploring the Hebrides
Cameras at the ready as we set off on a day’s excursion around the Hebrides – the ‘islands on the edge of the ocean’. This unforgettable tour of North Lewis takes in a landscape of peaty moorlands, sheer cliffs and sandy bays. What’s more, we get to marvel at the prehistoric Standing Stones of Calanais, which can be seen from miles around.

 

DAY 5: Free time in Stornoway
The choice is yours – relax in the hotel or sightsee in Stornoway, where Gaelic traditions and the language still survives.

 

DAY 6: From Stornoway to Inverness, visiting Ullapool along the way
Following on from a morning trip to the Butt of Lewis we have some time to relax in Stornoway before sailing across to Ullapool. The adventure continues through Wester Ross to Inverness, where we stay for two nights at the Royal Highland Hotel.

 

DAY 7: We’re off to Loch Ness!
The mysterious Loch Ness is where our journey takes us today – it’s off around the north shores first to Drumnadrochit, past the ruins of Urquart Castle, and then we return to Inverness along the south shores, but not before a stop at Fort Augustus. Will we see Nessie?

 

DAY 8: From Inverness to home
Sadly our adventure draws to a close as we head back home with fantastic holiday memories to cherish!
