DAY 1:
UK to Valkenburg We travel
to Dover for the sailing to Calais then onwards to Holland
for a late arrival in Valkenburg.
DAY 6:
Valkenburg to N.France After
breakfast we leave Valkenburg and travel back into Belgium
with the opportunity to stop in historic Ypres before continuing
to our overnight hotel in Northern France. (B,D)
DAY 2 to 5: Valkenburg At leisure
in Valkenburg, one of Holland’s top holiday resorts.
By day enjoy the charming castle, grottoes, catacombs, cable
cars, shops and wonderful scenery, and by night relax in
one of the lively bars and cafés. Enjoy our two included
excursions to Maastricht and additionally to Aachen and
Monschau, as well
as a choice of optional excursions allowing you to explore
the surrounding area further. (B,D)
DAY 7:
N. France to UK To Calais
for the ferry crossing to Dover and then home. (B)

Day Aachen to Monschau We travel
over the border into Germany and the historic town of Aachen,
once a Roman spa. Its stunning cathedral originates from Charlemagne
and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We continue to Monschau,
located in the mountainous Eiffel area. The
town has well-preserved half-timbered houses with ornate slate
roofs. Tucked into a peaceful hilly landscape, it is dominated
by the ruins of two fortresses.

Day to Thorn We visit Thorn, perched on a hillock
beside the River Maas. It is known as the ‘white village’
and is unique, both architecturally and historically. All
the brick houses are whitewashed, giving it a Mediterranean
look, and surround a large church with streets paved with
cobble stones in mosaic patterns.
