Costa Brava Coastal Tour (optional,
included on Silver Service).
First, to
Tossa de Mar, a typical Catalan coastal town
with narrow cobbled streets, medieval
walls, a 14th-century church and plenty of
bars! Then it’s on to Lloret de Mar, the
liveliest resort on the Costa Brava, and
finally historic Blanes, once famous for its
lace-making
Barcelona (included).
Enjoy the delightful
relaxed atmosphere, particularly along Las
Ramblas. Our optional guided Barcelona
sightseeing tour takes in many of the city’s
sights, such as Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, a
spectacular church begun in 1882 and still
under construction, the impressive 1992
Olympic Stadium and the bustling Las
Ramblas, with free time to explore the
bars, cafés and shops.
Montserrat (optional).
Known locally as the ‘serrated
mountain’. We travel through the mountains to the site of
the 9th-century Benedictine monastery. Its beautiful basilica
and turbulent history make this a fascinating place to visit.
Girona and Besalu (optional).
Behind Girona’s charming colourful houses
lining the River Onyar lies the Old Town,
with its imposing Gothic cathedral, maze of
narrow streets and ‘Rambla de la Libertat’.
We then make our way to the charming
medieval town of Besalu.
Catalan Country Tour
(optional).
We head to the cool of
the wooded hills with our local guide, our first stop being
the delightful spa town of Sant Hilari Sacalm. Enjoy a delicious
Catalan lunch, before returning to the coast.

holiday offers 14 nights in Spain together with the same excursion

Your Hotels
You’ll stay for six nights
at the 3-star Hotel Volga in the coastal resort town of Calella.
The hotel is in the centre of town, close to the beach. It
has a lift, bar, restaurant, lounge and outdoor swimming pool.
See page 84 for a picture of the Hotel Volga.
On the 17-day holiday, you’ll stay for 14 nights at the 3-star
Hotel Florida Park in Santa Susanna close to the town centre
shops and beaches. Popular with Leger guests for many years,
the hotel is ideally located for our excursion programme or
personal exploration, with a regular train service along the
coast to many resorts. There are lifts, a large bar area,
lounge, restaurant, sun terrace and indoor leisure complex,
including swimming pool (daily charge). All bedrooms have
T.V., telephone, air-conditioning and a safe.
Overnight stops in France will be in city-style hotels.
