Day 1:
Plymouth to Santander
To Plymouth,
where we board our Brittany Ferries cruise ferry, the Pont-Aven,
for the sailing to Santander in Northern Spain. Enjoy dinner
and overnight on board ship. (As there’s no access to
the coach during the overnight crossing, you’ll need
an overnight bag with any essentials you might require) (D) |
Day 8:
Seville to Granada We head
east to the inspiring city of Granada, situated at the foot
of the Sierra Nevada, where we stay for two nights at the
Gran Luna de Granada (4*). (B,D) |
Day 2: Santander to Madrid
After breakfast and a morning
arrival in Spain we disembark and continue to Madrid to arrive
in time for dinner at the Praga (4*) where we spend the next
two nights. (B,D) |
Day 9: Granada Included guided tour of
Granada, which takes us to the Alhambra, a series of grand
Moorish palaces dating from the 14th century (entrance included
to the palace and the gardens). (B,D) |
Day 3: Madrid Enjoy an included guided
sightseeing tour of Madrid before spending the rest of the
day at leisure. This city well and truly spoils its visitors
with choices: the magnificent 17th-century Plaza Mayor houses
outdoor cafés, concerts and theatre festivals beneath
its beautifully muralled balconies, while The Prado exhibits
the world’s greatest collection of Spanish art, including
works by El Greco and Goya. Included entrance to the Royal

Day 10: Granada to Toledo
Today sees us heading north to Toledo for
a guided walking tour. The city, is a magnificent maze of
houses, churches, synagogues and mosques, seemingly heaped
upon each other in no particular order. Here we enjoy dinner
and an overnight stay at the Eurostars Toledo (4*). (B,D)

Day 4: Madrid to Córdoba
We head
across the Sierra Morena for the Moorish city of Córdoba,
whose star attraction is the Mezquita Cathedral. We enjoy
two nights at the Hotel Las Adelfas (4*). (B,D) |
Day 11: Toledo to Burgos
We pause in both Avila
and Segovia, famed for its two cathedrals and ancient university,
en route to Burgos, where we stay overnight at the Corona
de Castilla (4*). (B,D) |
Day 5: Córdoba
A guided city tour of Córdoba
this morning to see the main sights, like the Alcazar and
the Mezquite (entrance included). Afternoon at leisure to
further seek out your favourite sights in this marvellous
city. (B,D) |
Day 12: Santander to Plymouth
Returning to Santander
on the north coast, we board our Brittany Ferries cruise ferry
for the return sailing to Plymouth, with dinner on board ship.
(As there’s no access to the coach during the overnight
crossing, you’ll need an overnight bag with any essentials
you might require). (B,D) |
Day 6: Córdoba to Seville
We travel to sensual Seville, the opera-inspiring
capital of flamenco and most Spanish of all the
country’s cities. See some of the many sights on
our included guided city tour.
A delightful mixture of Moorish and Christian,
from the ‘Alcazar’ to the ‘Plaza de España’,
ornately decorated with ceramic tiles. Seville’s
Gothic Cathedral (entrance included) is Spain’s
largest and those who climb the Giralda Tower
will be rewarded with superb views. We stay for
two nights at the Sevilla Congresos (4*), on the
outskirts of the city. (B,D) |
Day 13: Plymouth to Exeter
Enjoy breakfast on board
ship before we travel by coach to Exeter for dinner and an
overnight stay at the Thistle Exeter (4*). (B,D) Customers
from South West England and South Wales return home independently. |
Day 7: Seville
At leisure in Seville to further explore your
favourite sights. (B,D) |
Day 14: Home After breakfast we’ll
take you back to your original joining point. (B) |
