UK to N. France To
our hotel in Northern France for dinner and an overnight stay.

DAY 7:
Salzburg to Vienna via the Salzkammergut A splendid scenic drive awaits us this morning
as we journey through the Salzkammergut,
Austria’s lake district, with its striking peaks,
clear blue lakes and wooded slopes, before
joining the motorway. We reach Vienna for
dinner and two nights at the Hotel Ananas (4*),
a comfortable hotel within easy reach of the
wonderful sights of historic Vienna. (B,D) |
DAY 2: N. France to Weggis
We continue
into Switzerland to Weggis, where we stay for two nights at
the Hotel Hertenstein (3*). Nestled on the shore of Lake Lucerne,
the Hertenstein boasts an indoor swimming pool and lakeside
gardens. (B,D) |
DAY 8: Vienna Enjoy an included guided sightseeing tour of
Vienna, Austria’s elegant capital city, where life
revolves around St Stephen’s Cathedral. For
many people, Vienna suggests the rhythm of
the waltz or the Prater’s big wheel, the Vienna
Boys’ Choir or the famous Lippizaner horses.
The huge Imperial Hofburg complex also
dominates the city centre and the ‘Ring’
thoroughfare features a host of stunning
buildings, including the State Opera House,
Town Hall and Parliament. (B,D) |
DAY 3: Weggis Enjoy a day at leisure in the picturesque
resort of Weggis on Lake Lucerne. With its flower-decked promenades
and lakeside vistas, Weggis is a great place to relax. Alternatively,
why not join our optional excursion to Interlaken, situated
between lakes Brienz and Thun. (B,D) |
DAY 9: Vienna to Innsbruck
We travel west along the motorways to reach
Innsbruck. The ancient capital of the Tyrol,
Innsbruck lies in a beautiful setting, backed by
dramatic mountain peaks. The town itself
boasts the famous Maria-Theresien-Strasse and
the famed little ‘Golden Roof’. Enjoy dinner and
an overnight stay at the Hotel Innsbruck (4*).

DAY 4: Glacier Express
A day of
scenic delights today as we enjoy a splendid included excursion
on board the Glacier Express. Enjoy breathtaking scenery as
a steep zig-zag ascent takes us to the 6,700 feet of the Oberalp
Pass. We descend to Disentis and then traverse the spectacular
Upper Rhine Gorge to Chur. Passengers not wishing to join
the Glacier Express will travel by coach to Chur. We then
enter Liechtenstein before crossing the border into Austria
and continuing to medieval Feldkirch for an overnight stay
at the Hotel Gasthof Löwen (4*). (B,D) |
DAY 10: Innsbruck to Bad Herrenalb
We cross the magnificent Fern Pass and
enter Germany to reach the spa resort of Bad Herrenalb for
dinner and an overnight stay at the Ramada Treff Hotel (3*).

DAY 5: Feldkirch to Salzburg
We enjoy magnificent alpine scenery this
morning as we follow the Inn Valley, then
continue along the Saalbach Valley entering
Germany and driving through the famous
Berchtesgadener land. We re-enter Austria to
reach Salzburg, where we enjoy an orientation
drive. We then settle in for dinner and two
nights at the Mercure Hotel Salzburg City (4*).
Conveniently situated for exploring the city, the
Mercure Hotel offers a quiet but central
location, within walking distance of the main

DAY 11: Bad Herrenalb to N. France
We continue to Northern France for dinner
and an overnight stay. (B,D) |
DAY 6:
Salzburg
Enjoy a day at leisure in Salzburg, birthplace of
Mozart. Explore its picturesque narrow streets,
spacious squares and gardens, browse the
shops along the quaint Getreidegasse, or
alternatively you may wish to climb to the
imposing Hohensalzburg Fortress. Naturally,
there are also few better places to sample the
typically Austrian apple strudel at a pavement

DAY 12: N.France to UK
After breakfast we journey to Calais for
the ferry to Dover. We continue home with fond memories of
our scenic holiday in Austria and Switzerland. (B) |
