FULL DAY Today we head for 'a St Petersburg palace on a Yorkshire hill' otherwise known as Harewood House (admission included), winners of the prestigious Yorkshire in Bloom award in 2010 and home to the Earl and Countess of Harewood. The house, one of the treasure houses of England, was built in the mid-18th century and has magnificent interiors by Robert Adam, furniture by Thomas Chippendale and paintings by JMW Turner, Reynolds, Titian and El Greco, among others. An Italianate Terrace, designed by Sir Charles Barry, stretches along the South Front of the House and provides stunning views of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown's landscape and lake. FULL DAY This morning we drive to the RHS Garden Harlow Carr (admission included), one of Yorkshire's most relaxing and tranquil gardens. The garden is alive and vibrant throughout the seasons from the riotous spring bulb displays to the blaze of autumnal colours. Highlights include the streamside garden, the kitchen garden, the scented garden and the exclusive Harlow Carr Alpine garden. We return via the Floral Town of Harrogate with its world famous parks and gardens.
