Honfleur

The picturesque region of Normandy was the inspiration for the great Impressionist painters of the nineteenth century. Your base for this stay will be Normandy’s historic capital of Rouen. This striking city – famous for its connections with Joan of Arc – boasts a fi ne historic centre, including the impressive Notre Dame Cathedral. Spend your time at leisure to discover Rouen or join our programme of optional excursions to explore the area. Take a tour of the Calvados region, which includes visits to the pretty harbour of Honfl eur and the lively city of Caen. On the fi nal full day you can join our trip to the beautiful Monet’s Gardens and also visit the house where the famous Impressionist lived and painted for over forty years.
