DAY 1:
UK to N. France To
Dover and across to Calais, then on into Northern France to
our overnight hotel. (D) |
DAY 8: Krakow to Budapest
Three countries
in one day as we head south through the Tatra Mountains of
Poland, through Slovakia and then into Hungary for two nights
in the capital, Budapest. This evening you can join an optional

DAY 2: N. France to Helmstedt
Through Belgium and Holland
into Germany and on to Helmstedt for an overnight stay at
the Holiday Inn (3*). (B,D) |
DAY 9: Budapest
A leisurely day in Budapest
with an included morning sightseeing tour to see some of the
major attractions. A walk through Buda’s charming streets
will reveal lovely Baroque houses and medieval entryways,
whilst in Pest you will find modern designer clothing shops
and jewellers. Visit the Castle District of Buda with its
quaint cobbled streets and hidden gardens. Here the impressive
Fisherman’s Bastion overlooks the Parliament and the
famous ChainBridge leads to Pest, the city’s commercial

DAY 3: Helmstedt to Berlin
To Potsdam for an included guided tour of this
wonderful town, full of palaces, parks and
gardens, before we arrive at our hotel for the
night. In the evening an optional ‘Berlin by
Night’ guided tour to see some of the many

DAY 10: Budapest to Prague
Through
neighbouring Slovakia to reach the Czech Republic and its
capital Prague, where we stay for two nights. There will be
an optional city tour this evening to see Prague by night.

DAY 4: Berlin to Wroclaw
Into Poland and to Wroclaw,
where we spend the next two nights. There will be an opportunity
to participate in an optional city tour this evening. Hotel

DAY 11: Prague At leisure
in Prague, with its skyline dominated by hundreds of towers
and spires and the imposing St Vitus Cathedral looking down
from the hill of Hradcany over the Charles Bridge, lined with
baroque statues. Prague’s Old Town is vibrant with the
quaint shops selling glassware, antique books, and lace. You’ll
be seeing some of the main sights on our included guided city
tour this morning. In the evening you can join in the optional
‘Bohemian Evening’. (B,D) |
DAY 5: Wroclaw At leisure in Wroclaw to
further explore your favourite parts of this wonderful city.
Wroclaw’s most valuable historical buildings and artwork
can be found in the Old Town and they are all accessible on
foot. Alternatively you can join our scenic optional excursion
into the Sudety Mountains. (B,D) |
DAY 12: Prague to Wiesbaden
Back into
Germany today. We’ll be staying overnight in the Ramada
Treff Wiesbaden- Nordenstadt (3*). (B,D) |
DAY 6: Wroclaw to Krakow
Continuing
across Poland today we head first for Auschwitz where there
will be free time to contemplate this poignant memorial or
to join an optional guided tour before continuing to Krakow,
where we stay for two nights, Hotel Wyspianski (3*). (B,D) |
DAY 13: Wiesbaden to
N. France Through
the scenic Rhine Valley and Belgium, into Northern France
for our last night. (B,D) |
DAY 7: Krakow
Krakow’s
main Market Square is the largest medieval centre in Europe,
with its Cloth Hall, topped with gargoyles, St Mary’s
Church and the Town Hall Tower. Climb Wawel Hill to visit
the magnificent castle or browse around the shops beneath
the Cloth Hall. Our included morning sightseeing tour will
introduce you to the main sights and in the afternoon you
can enjoy time at leisure or join an optional excursion to
the world famous Wielickza Salt Mines. This takes you through
the eerie world of pits and chambers, full of hand hewn salt

DAY 14: N. France to UK
From Calais
we take the return crossing to Dover, then home. (B) |
