1: ARRIVE CAIRO (2)
You are met on your arrival at Cairo Airport and transferred to your hotel. The
remainder of the day is at leisure. Hotel: Le Meridien Pyramids (SF) (2 nights)
DAY
2: CAIRO – PYRAMIDS EXCURSION
Today is full of amazing highlights. First we will drive to Memphis where we
see the limestone Colossus of Ramses II and the giant Alabaster Sphinx. Then
we continue to Sakkara where the Step Pyramid heralded the start of the
pyramid age. Marvel at the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, which casts
its enigmatic gaze across the sands of the desert. This evening, return to the
Pyramids for an unforgettable Sound and Light Show and glory again at the
Pyramids by night. (BB)
DAY
3: CAIRO – LUXOR – DENDERA – NILE CRUISE (7)
We take an early morning flight to Luxor where upon arrival we visit the gigantic
temple complex of Karnak. Later we board our cruise ship in time for lunch. This

DAY
4: NILE CRUISE: DENDERA – LUXOR
Explore the Dendera Temple, dedicated to the Goddess Hathor, and see the bas-relief of Cleopatra with her son Caesarion. Rejoin your ship and cruise back to Luxor to visit the Grand Temple of Luxor. It was in Luxor that British crime novelist Agatha Christie stayed. Her time in Egypt inspired her to write the famous book Death on the Nile which was later made into a movie. (B L D)

5: NILE CRUISE: LUXOR – EDFU
Today we visit the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings. Next we visit the
breathtaking Deir el-Bahri, Queen Hatshepsut’s impressive temple and the
gigantic statues, the Colossi of Memnon, before returning to our cruise ship. Later
we sail via the Esna Lock to Edfu, gliding past primitive villages on the banks of

6: NILE CRUISE: EDFU – ASWAN
Visit the Temple of Edfu, one of the best preserved and dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Cruise to Aswan. Dress up in galabeas and enjoy a fun-filled evening of Egyptian culture and cuisine. (B L D)

7: NILE CRUISE: ASWAN
This morning we explore the High Dam and Granite Quarries where we see the
massive unfinished obelisk. Then by motorboat to the Island of Philae to visit the
Temple of Isis. This afternoon we take a memorable felucca ride across the Nile to
see the Botanical Gardens on Kitchener’s Island. (B L D)

8: NILE CRUISE: ASWAN – KOM OMBO – EDFU
ake an optional air excursion to the temples of Abu Simbel beside Lake Nasser, to see four giant stone statues of Ramses II carved out of the mountains. This afternoon visit the roofless Temple of Kom-Ombo, dedicated to the falcon and crocodile gods. (B L D)

9: NILE CRUISE: EDFU – LUXOR
Today we have the chance to relax on board our Nile cruise ship as we sail to Luxor,
which we reach in the late afternoon. We have time to enjoy the splendid views and
to watch the almost biblical scenery pass by as we watch from the deck. Tonight we
dine on board our cruise ship. (B L D)

10: DISEMBARK LUXOR – CAIRO (2)
Fly to Cairo. This evening you might consider an evening meal in a local restaurant followed by some lively Egyptian entertainment. (B) Hotel: Ramses Hilton (MD) (2 nights)

11: CAIRO SIGHTSEEING
Today we enjoy a full day of sightseeing which will include the Citadel, the
spectacular complex dominating Cairo’s skyline. From here we make a visit to the
Sultan Hassan Mosque and Mohammed Ali’s Alabaster Mosque with its highly
decorated and ornate interior. In old Cairo we will visit the Hanging Church of
St. Mary above the old water gate. Also we will visit the Egyptian Museum, home of
King Tutankhamun’s priceless treasures, discovered by Howard Carter in the Valley of
the Kings in 1922. This evening, there is time on your own to do as you please. (BB)

12: DEPART CAIRO
This morning there’s time to bid farewell to this unforgettable country, new-found
friends and your Tour Director as the tour comes to an end. Airport transfers are
