DAY 1: Depart UK & Inflight
Board your flight bound for Beijing, China.
DAY 8: Guilin
This morning, participate in one of the oldest and most revered Chinese traditions - experience peace and tranquillity with a Tai Chi lesson. We then enjoy a cruise on the Li River to view Guilin’s unique scenery, inspiration for Chinese poets for centuries. Then spend time at leisure in Guilin to visit the markets and buy souvenirs.(B,L,D)
DAY 2: Beijing
Today we arrive in Beijing where we stay for three nights at the Radisson SAS Hotel.
DAY 3: Beijing
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, taking us to Tiananmen Square where we experience a time honoured and favourite pastime of the Chinese, kite flying in the Square. We continue to the Forbidden City and the Summer Palace. Tonight enjoy a special Peking Duck dinner.(B,L,D)
DAY 9: Guilin to Shanghai
We leave for Shanghai, a bustling trade port and the economic heart of China. After lunch we visit the Bund and the waterfront, where we see European style architecture of the buildings that once housed the institutions of the colonial powers in the 19th century. Tonight, optional excursions will be available. We stay for the next four nights at the Renaissance Pudong Hotel, Shanghai. (B,L)
DAY 4: The Great Wall
We drive through the valley of the Ming Tombs and see the Chang Ling burial site. No visit of China would be complete without seeing the Great Wall. Today we have the chance to walk along a section of this 3700 mile marvel. This evening we enjoy a Peking Opera show. (B,L,D)

DAY 10: Shanghai
We visit the Children’s Palace, an ornate fortress where local children learn various arts including calligraphy, piano and dance. We then visit the Old Town and walk down narrow lanes to the once private Yu Yuan Gardens. Leave the bustle of the city behind with a stroll through this island of tranquillity. We then make a stop at the Temple of the Jade Buddha before enjoying an amazing Acrobatics Show tonight. (B,L,D)
DAY 5: Beijing to Xian
Enjoy a once in a lifetime rickshaw tour through the streets of ancient Beijing before visiting the Temple of Heaven, an ornate sanctuary where Chinese Emperors worshipped their gods. We take a flight inland to the city of Xian for two nights at the ANA Grand Castle Hotel. (B,L,D)
DAY11: Shanghai
We take an excursion to the water village of Zhujiajiao, an ancient city on the banks of the Dianshan Lake. After 1000 years, Ming and Qing dynasty buildings still stand and ancient bridges cross the canal in the town centre. Visit the museums, shop on BeiDa Street, famed for its 1000 shops, then take a boat ride on the canal. (B,L,D).
DAY 6: Xian
We begin today with a visit to one of the most famous Buddhist Temples in the world, the classical Wild Goose Pagoda. We then visit the Great Mosque, a haven of tranquillity in the bustling market areas of Xian. See skilled artisans at work and learn about one of the local handicrafts at a jade carving factory. For lunch we savour a local speciality, Xian dumplings, before travelling to the excavation site of the Terracotta Warriors. Enjoy dinner and entertainment tonight at the Tang Dynasty Show.(B,L,D)
DAY12: Shanghai
This morning we visit the Shanghai National History Museum, whose artefacts span the length of China’s history and enliven its cultural traditions. Explore the city independently this afternoon then enjoy a farewell dinner with our fellow travellers tonight. (B,D)
DAY13: Shanghai to UK
Today we depart Shanghai, fly back to the UK, and arrive home with wonderful memories.(B)
DAY 7: Xian to Guilin
A morning flight takes us to the beautiful city of Guilin with its mystical landscape of limestone karst pinnacles covered with lush vegetation. An introduction to the city includes views of Elephant Trunk Hill and a visit to the Reed Flute Caves featuring wonderful underground scenery. We also visit the fascinating Chinese Art Instituation for an informative demonstration. We stay in Guilin for two nights at the Sheraton Hotel.(B,L,D)
