China - Holiday Itinerary
Day 1:
UK Osaka Your
holiday starts with the WA Shearings Door To Door service
collecting you from home and taking you to your departure
airport. From here you will fly to Osaka.
Day 9:
Hong Kong Guilin After
a short flight, arrive in Guilin, known for its mystical landscape
and lush vegetation. An introduction to the city includes
views of Elephant Trunk Hill and a twilight tour. Stay for
2 nights at the Guilin Bravo Hotel, Guilin. (B, D)
Day 2: Osaka Kyoto Arriving into Osaka, you
will transfer to Kyoto with the rest of the day at leisure.
Stay for 3 nights at the Kyoto Tokyu Hotel, Kyoto.
Day 10: Guilin Cruise along the Li River
and enjoy the inspirational scenery. See water buffalo, rice
paddies, schoolchildren and fisherman float by on bamboo rafts.
Rest of the day at leisure for you to explore at will. This
evening, enjoy a Minority Cultural Show. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Kyoto Begin with a visit to Nishiki crafts market
and then tour Kyoto, Japans cultural and artistic hub.
Visit Kyoto National Museum with more than 200 designated
national treasures and on to Nijo Castle with its Momoyama
architecture, decorated doors and floors that squeak like
nightingales when someone walks on them. Tour Kinkakuji, Mirror
Pond, Temple of the Golden Pavilion and then Kiyomizu Temple
just in time for sunset. Evening stroll through the geisha
district of Gion followed by an authentic Japanese dinner.

Day 11: Guilin Xian Experience peace and tranquillity
as you participate in a private lesson of Tai Chi. Then travel
to Xian, one of Chinas ancient capitals. Stay for 2
nights at the ANA Grand Castle Hotel, Xian overlooking the
city walls. This evening, experience the Tang Dynasty show.

Day 4: Kyoto Nara Kyoto Travel to
Nara, for the peaceful Kasuga Shrine in the midst of the ancient
forest, Nara Park and Todaiji Temple. Return to Kyoto for
a traditional tea ceremony. (B)
Day 12: Xian Visit the imposing city walls, classical
Wild Goose Pagoda, Terracotta Warriors and Provincial Museum.
Tonight features a special Xian dumpling dinner at one of
the most famous restaurants in Xian. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Kyoto Bullet Train
Tokyo Board
the bullet train to Hakone passing many rural villages and
farm land and visit Gotembas white pagoda. View imposing
Mount Fuji with its breathtaking beauty. Continue to Tokyo,
Japans vibrant and energetic capital. Stay for 2 nights
at the Grand Palace Hotel, Tokyo. (B)
Day 13: Xian Beijing Fly to the capital Beijing
for a fascinating tour of Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden
City, the vast 15th century complex of palaces that was once
home to the emperors, and Temple of Heaven where Chinese emperors
worshipped their gods. This evening, a special treat is in
store a Peking duck dinner. (B, L, D)
Day 6: Tokyo Full day tour of Tokyo with the Tsukiji
fish market for the tuna auction, Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace,
the Nijubashi bridges, Asakusa Kannon temple and Nakamise
arcade. Tonight enjoy dinner at one of Tokyos finest
local restaurants. (B, D)
Day 14: The Great Wall Today walk
along a portion of the Great Wall or experience the favourite
pastime of kiteflying. Later, travel through the valley of
the Ming Tombs, burial sites of 13 Ming Dynasty emperors through
the scenic avenue called the Way of the Spirit. Tonight, enjoy
a special Peking Opera show. (B, L, D)
Day 7: Tokyo Hong Kong This morning,
fly to Hong Kong, one of Asias most cosmopolitan and
dynamic cities. You will stay in Kowloon, located in the heart
of Hong Kongs bustling shopping district. The remainder
of your day is at leisure. Perhaps you will purchase custom-made
clothing sewn by some of the most talented tailors in the
world. Hong Kong is noted for fabulous savings on jewellery,
silk and leather products. Stay for 2 nights at the Kowloon,
Hong Kong. (B)
Day 15: Beijing Enjoy a rickshaw tour through
streets and alleys to the oldest part of Beijing. With help
from an interpreter, learn about a local familys history
and way of life when you share lunch with them in their Hutong
home. They will also teach you the art of traditional dumpling
making. Later, enjoy being part of a tea ceremony at the Bell
Tower. Then enjoy a sightseeing tour of the Summer Palace
picturesque and poetic, it is a masterpiece of architecture
and gardening. (B, L, D)
Day 8: Hong Kong Aberdeen Morning
at leisure then tour the business district and the fishing
village of Aberdeen and enjoy a sampan ride. Board a tram
for Victoria Peak with its spectacular views of Hong Kong
and dinner. Your day ends with a short cruise to Kowloon where
you will witness the waterfront light show. (B, D)
Day 16: Depart Beijing Arrive
UK Depart Beijing
for your return flight to the UK via Tokyo. On arrival, WA
Shearings Door To Door service will take you back home.
