We arrive at our hotel in the Austrian Tirol for a four-night stay. D

CHRISTMAS EVE: Salzburg (included)
Enjoy the sights of the beautiful ‘Sound of Music’ city, perhaps being tempted into a warm café for a traditional coffee and cake. In the afternoon, remain in the city as the locals prepare for ‘Holy Night’, or join our optional excursion to the Salzkammergut Lakes. B,D

CHRISTMAS DAY: Gisela Railway (included)
After breakfast, we head for the Kitzbühel Alps for an unforgettable ride on the historic Gisela Railway, between Zell-am-See and Kitzbühel. The tranquil journey will take us through enchanting mountain scenery. This evening, we enjoy a turkey dinner at our hotel. B,D

BOXING DAY: Ziller Valley Railway (optional) and Tirolean evening (optional)
A day of choices; spend the day at leisure or join a ride on the narrow-gauge steam railway in the Ziller Valley (optional). The journey is leisurely and takes in the delightful scenery from Fügen to the ski resort of Mayrhofen. There’s also the chance for a traditional horse and carriage ride through local countryside (optional). This evening, don’t miss the hugely entertaining local Tirolean evening (optional). B,D

DEC 27: Innsbruck and Rattenberg (optional)
Enjoy a visit to Innsbruck and Rattenberg, before commencing our overnight journey home. B

DEC 28:
To Calais, then return home. B
