Local departure by coach then onward through the night towards Austria.

We arrive in the Austrian Tyrol for a four-night stay. D

CHRISTMAS EVE: Salzburg (included); Salzkammergut Lakes (optional)
Enjoy the sights of the beautiful 'Sound of Music' city, perhaps being tempted into a warm café for a traditional coffee and cake. In the afternoon, remain in the city as the locals prepare for 'Holy Night', or join our optional excursion to the Salzkammergut Lakes. This is one of Austria's prettiest regions with stunning lakes and picturesque villages. B,D

CHRISTMAS DAY: Zell am See and Kitzbühel (included); Pinzgau Train Ride (optional)
First we visit the lakeside village of Zell am See where you can spend free time or join an optional nostalgic train ride on the narrow gauge Pinzgau Stream train through the mountains to Mitersill. Later we spend time in Kitzbühel with its picturesque walled Old Town centre. This evening we enjoy a turkey dinner at our hotel. B,D

BOXING DAY: Ziller Valley Railway, Horse and Carriage Ride and Tyrolean Evening (optional)
A day of choices: spend the day at leisure or join a ride on the narrow-gauge steam railway in the Ziller Valley. The journey is leisurely and takes in the delightful scenery between Fügen and the ski resort of Mayrhofen. There's also the chance for a traditional horse and carriage ride through local countryside. Tonight, don't miss the hugely entertaining local Tyrolean evening. B,D

DEC 27:
Enjoy an optional visit to Innsbruck, the capital of the Tyrol and Rattenberg, before commencing our overnight journey home. B

DEC 28:
We arrive in Calais for the return crossing to England, then onward to your original joining point.
