| Sussex by the Sea - England Coach Tours - 5 Days Tour Highlights • Lovely South Downs scenery • Beachy Head • Eastbourne • Picturesque Arundel • Cathedral town of Chichester |
Cosmopolitan Brighton
has something for everyone, young and not so young! Recently
granted city status, with its neighbour Hove, it has a great
diversity of attractions - from the lavish Royal Pavilion,
museums and art galleries, to the amusements of the Palace
Pier, the quirky shops of the Lanes, the antiquated Volks
seafront railway, and the sheer variety of cafes, restaurants
and evening entertainment. |
| Sussex by the Sea - Your Excursions |
HALF
DAY By the scenic coast road we head for Eastbourne, with a call at Beachy Head, the highest point of the chalky white Seven Sisters cliffs. There’s plenty of time to relax and explore at Eastbourne, a favourite Victorian seaside resort noted for its immaculate seafront gardens and pier. |
FULL DAY In the morning we travel through the South Downs by a scenic route, through the attractive small towns of Petworth and Midhurst, to spend some time at Chichester. Nowadays a bustling Georgian market town, it has an historic past, with remnants of old town walls, Roman remains, an elegant cathedral and a 16th century market cross. Then it’s onto Arundel, possibly the most picturesque town in West Sussex. It has a 700 year old castle, a Gothic style cathedral, and several interesting antique outlets. |
