The gently rolling Yorkshire Wolds sweep across East Yorkshire between the chalk cliffs of
Flamborough Head and the broad expanse of the Humber.This is a landscape of wide open
spaces, with a more relaxed pace of life, dotted with picturesque villages, historic little churches
and handsome stately homes. From our hotel, which overlooks the spectacular Humber Bridge,
we meander through this delightful area, and include visits to two of the area’s outstanding
stately homes, and some unusual gardens too.

FULL
DAY A full day
tour takes us to the country town of Pocklington, where it
is Market Day, and Burnby Hall Gardens nearby. The principal
attraction is it hosts Europe’s largest water lily collection,
in a beautiful lake setting (admission included). From here
we climb into the heart of the Wolds to the idyllic estate
village of Sledmere, where we visit Sledmere House, set within
tranquil parkland with woodland walks (admission included).
FULL DAY Today’s excursion
includes time for sightseeing at
Beverley, a lovely market town with
attractive Georgian architecture
and a stunning 13th century
Minster. In the afternoon visit
Burton Agnes Hall (admission
included), a magnificent Elizabethan
mansion lived in by descendants of
the original family. This home is
filled with treasures accumulated
over four centuries, and the
surrounding gardens are a delight.
Hotel Elizabeth
THIS MODERN purpose built hotel is situated
close to the Yorkshire Wolds, in North Ferriby, with panoramic
views over the Humber Bridge. Facilities include a restaurant
with stunning views, bar and lounge. All bedrooms feature
private facilities, television, direct dial telephone, trouser
press and tea and coffee making facilities.

HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY to choose the coach seat of your choice
which is yours from the moment you join your tour coach. Seat
numbers are not allocated on regional transfer services. In
most cases on coaches equipped with a rear mounted WC, seats
23 and 24 move to the driver’s side of the vehicle, whilst
seats 45 and 46 move one seat forward of the rear seat.
Please note
that SMOKING IS NOT PERMITTED ON COACHES. Passengers who do
smoke will have ample opportunity to do so at the comfort
stops en route.
