The
Heart of Wales Coach Tours - 8 Days
Tour Highlights
• Cambrian Mountains and coast • Dinas-Mawddwy
• Aberystwyth
• Heart of Wales Railway Ride • Llandovery • Tywyn
Situated seven hundred
feet above sea level and surrounded by some of the most beautiful
scenery in Wales, Llandrindod Wells is one of Britain’s hidden
treasures. It was the Victorians who developed the town into
one of the most fashionable Spa towns in Britain, and you
can still visit the Pump Room where it was once possible to
take the mineral rich waters. Temple Gardens is the perfect
place to relax and watch the world go by, whilst for the more
energetic there is a purpose-built indoor bowling centre nearby.
The Heart of Wales
- Your Excursions
FULL DAY Our full
day excursion takes us to the seaside resort of Aberystwyth
where there is an opportunity to take an optional ride on
one of the ‘Great Little Trains of Wales’ - the Vale of Rheidol
Steam railway (summer only). This marvellous journey winds
its way through the hills, offering spectacular views down
the valley, to Devil’s Bridge.
FULL DAY A marvellous
scenic full day tour of the Cambrian Mountains and coast.
Our first visit is Machynlleth, site of the first Welsh Parliament,
before travelling along the shores of the Dovey Estuary to
the coastal resort of Aberdovey. Back into the Welsh countryside
to Tywyn and pass mighty Cadir Idris on our way to the attractive
mountain village of Dinas-Mawddwy.
HALF DAY An extended half day excursion
on the ‘Heart of Wales’ railway line to Llandovery.A short
walk this morning to the station where we board our train
and enjoy one on the most spectacularly scenic rail journey’s
in Britain. Climb over Sugar Loaf summit and pass over Cynghordy
viaduct, 102 feet above the valley and now a listed structure.
At Llandovery explore this attractive market town at your
leisure and perhaps take in the Brecon Beacons National Park
Information Centre, adjacent Heritage Centre, the 1840 Market
Hall and a 12th century ruined castle.
