Highlands & Islands - Scotland
Coach Tours - 8 Days

Tour Highlights
• A ride on the Fort William to Mallaig Railway • Loch Ness
• Great Glen • Sail 'over the sea to Skye' • Isle of Skye • Oban

Lying at the foot of Ben Nevis, Fort William is a thriving tourist resort and natural touring centre for the Highlands and the Isle of Skye. Fort William offers a wealth of interest and numerous sightseeing possibilities. A visit to the West Highland Museum, which contains the ‘secret portrait’ of Bonnie Prince Charlie, a boat trip to see the seals, and a cable car ride up the Nevis Range are particularly recommended.

Highlands & Islands - Holiday Itinerary
SATURDAY
From local departure points we head towards our overnight stop in the north of England.
SUNDAY
Crossing into Scotland we head for the Highlands via the lovely Trossachs region before arriving at the Cruachan Hotel, Fort William.
MONDAY
A day at leisure to relax and explore the thriving tourist town of Fort William.
TUESDAY
A half day excursion to Spean Bridge, with its Commando memorial and woollen mill, and through the Great Glen to Fort Augustus, where the Caledonian Canal meets legendary Loch Ness.
WEDNESDAY
An exciting day gets underway with a diesel train journey (ticket included) from Fort William to Mallaig - the most spectacular railway line in Britain. We cross the much photographed viaduct at Glenfinnan, Bonnie Prince Charlie’s monument, Loch Shiel and onto the port of Mallaig from where we sail ‘over the sea to Skye’, across the Sound of Sleat to Armadale. The Isle of Skye has a unique appeal with its myths, legends and Scottish heritage and we take time to explore the island, where we are treated to some magnificent scenery before returning to the mainland past Eilean Donan Castle and the Five Sisters of Kintail mountains.
THURSDAY
A full day excursion alongside Loch Linnhe, with ever changing seascapes, to the resort and ferry port of Oban, overlooked by the landmark amphitheatre of McCaig’s Tower. The town has a superb setting on a sheltered bay and is a favourite West Highland holiday centre.
FRIDAY
Leaving the Highlands this morning we travel through Border Country to our final night in the north of England.
SATURDAY
Sadly, a memorable holiday draws to a close.
