Excursions and visits

Nice & Eze (included)
We begin in the medieval village of Eze, perched high above the Mediterranean, with spectacular views and narrow streets with quaint craft shops and galleries. We continue to fashionable Nice, for an afternoon free to explore including the old town, with its pastel facades and ornate balconies, and the Promenade des Anglais, where the grand hotels and exclusive boutiques are to be found.

Paul de Vence and Cannes (optional)
We cross into France to St. Paul de Vence, a beautiful fortified medieval village. Wander around the cobblestone streets, admire the paintings, craft shops and boutiques, and soak up the atmosphere of a village that dates back to the 1500s. We end the day in Cannes, famed for the International Film Festival. Its most famous thoroughfare, Boulevard de la Croisette, is lined with hotels, boutiques and gardens on one side and fine coastal beaches on the other.
Monaco and Monte Carlo (optional)
Monaco’s eight square miles form the smallest and almost certainly wealthiest sovereign state. There is a fascination with Monaco’s ruling Grimaldi family, especially since Prince Ranier III’s marriage to the former film star Grace Kelly. Spend time in probably the most famous part of Monaco, Monte Carlo. Rub shoulders with the rich and famous, or take your chances in the Grand Casino.
Santa Margherita and Portofino (optional)
Travel to Santa Margherita, an attractive resort revolving around a thriving marina. You have time at leisure to explore the town’s two seaside squares, Piazza Martiri della Liberta and Piazza Vittorio Veneto, and the Basilica di Santa Margherita, just off the seafront on Piazza Caprera. During our visit you will have the opportunity to join us on an optional boat cruise (weather permitting) to the exclusive resort of Portofino. One of Italy’s most fashionable resorts, the harbour is moored with ocean-going yachts of the rich and famous, and its pedestrian-only streets are crammed with a galaxy of designer names and stylish restaurants. (If the weather prevents the cruise from operating, then we will visit the seaside resort of Alassio on the return journey instead.)

Eurostar option
You can travel to Paris by Eurostar from London, Ebbsfleet or Ashford at a supplement of £55 return. Please note that taxi transfers between Gare du Nord Eurostar station and your hotel in Paris are extra and cost around €30 Euros each way. For 2008, Eurostar will be departing from St. Pancras, their new terminal in London
