Italy - Holiday Itinerary |
DAY 1:
UK to N. France We
travel to Dover for the crossing to Calais, then continue
to our overnight hotel in Northern France. |
DAY 8:
Rome to Sorrento We
leave this wonderful city and head south past Naples, pausing
at Pompeii, to reach Sorrento. This beautiful resort lies
on a high rocky terrace above the stunning blue waters of
the Bay of Naples. Enjoy dinner and two nights here at the
Hotel Conca Park (4*), near the centre of Sorrento. (B,D) |
DAY 2: N. France to Como
We drive
in to Italy to the stunning Lake Como for dinner and an overnight
stay at the Hotel Continental (3*). (B,D) |
DAY 9: Sorrento At leisure in the beautiful
resort of Sorrento. As well as the pretty main square, Piazza
Tasso, the town offers a delightful network of alleyways crammed
with shops and restaurants. An optional excursion is available
to the stunning Amalfi Coast, where the rocks plunge in to
the crystal blue sea below. (B,D)

DAY 3: Como to Venice
We journey from Como to
reach attractive Verona, where we make a short stop for sightseeing.
We continue to the outskirts of Venice for an overnight stay
at the Hotel Albatros, Venice Mestre (4*). (B,D) |
DAY 10: Sorrento to Cannara
To Assisi, which enjoys
a pretty location along the slopes of Monte Subasio and which
is, of course, famous as the home of St Francis. Then to delightful
Cannara, where we enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the
Hotel Hortensis (3*). (B,D) |
DAY 4: Venice to Florence
Take an excursion into
the romantic city of Venice, with its 150 canals and almost
400 bridges, and admire the numerous beautiful palaces on
our included canal cruise. This afternoon we follow the roads
towards Florence, where we stay for dinner and two nights
at the Hotel Villa Gabriele D’Annunzio or similar (4*).
Dinner whilst in Florence will be in a local restaraunt. (B,D) |
DAY 11: Cannara to Tabiano Terme
We continue
to Pisa, where we make a stop with time to see the Square
of Miracles and the curious Leaning Tower, before heading
to Tuscany’s most gracious town, Lucca. We continue
to Tabiano Terme for dinner and an overnight stay at the Hotel
Ducala (4*). (B,D) |
DAY 5: Florence Enjoy an excursion into
Florence, regarded as the intellectual and artistic centre
of Italy, blessed with a multitude of treasures. An included
guided walking tour will be available to enable us to see
some of the most outstanding historic buildings and sights.
Dinner is in a local restaraunt close to
our hotel. (B,D) |
DAY 12: Tabiano Terme to Lyon
Crossing the border into
France, driving through magnificent alpine scenery, we reach
Lyon for dinner and overnight at the Hotel Lyon Est (3*).

DAY 6: Florence to Rome
Travelling through beautiful
Tuscan and Umbrian countryside, we pause in the beautiful
city of Siena, one of Tuscany’s most atmospheric medieval
towns, for sightseeing, before we reach Rome - Byron’s
‘City of the Soul’. A truly wonderful city, Rome
is a teeming maze of alleys, ancient palaces and Roman remains.
This evening we head to the Hotel Nova Domus for our two night
stay, which enjoys a wonderful central location very close
to the Vatican City (4*). (B,D) |
DAY 13: Lyon to N. France
We travel through the wine
regions of Burgundy and Champagne into Northern France to
our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. (B,D) |
DAY 7: Rome This morning enjoy an included
city tour to discover some of the many treasures Rome has
to offer - including the Colosseum, the Forum, and the Trevi
Fountain. In the afternoon, enjoy some free time, or join
our optional tour of the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. (B,
D) |
DAY 14: N. France to UK
Take the ferry from Calais
to Dover, and return home with happy memories of an unforgettable
journey. (B) |
