SATURDAY: Depart from one of our local joining points or take advantage of our Door to Door service* and connect to your transfer service to Dover. Here you meet your Silver Service luxury coach and fellow travellers then sail to Calais. Onwards to our 4-star overnight stop hotel in Belgium. |

SUNDAY
- COLOGNE & THE RHINE VALLEY: We leave Belgium and head to the city of Cologne with its splendid Gothic Cathedral and twin spires that dominate the skyline view from the River Rhine. After some free time we continue along the Rhine Valley with the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing (optional) cruise along the river to enjoy the sedate scenery of the vineyards and castles that adorn the Valley. We continue to the Mannheim area for our overnight stay. B,D |

MONDAY
- HEIDELBERG: A morning visit to the picturesque town of Heidelberg which lies on the River Neckar and is famed for its university, which dates back to 1386, its castle and Old Town-the ‘Altstadt’. After lunch we head south to our accommodation in the Oberammergau area with time to relax ahead of tomorrow’s spectacle. B,D |

TUESDAY
- OBERAMMERGAU: Enjoy a relaxing morning in the environs of Oberammergau. Lunch is taken at noon before the start of the Passion Play at 2.30pm. After a break for dinner between 5 and 8pm the Play ends at 10.30pm. Transfer back to your accommodation. B,L,D |

WEDNESDAY-
AUSTRIAN TYROL: We leave after breakfast and head for the splendours of Austria’s Tyrol. En route to our hotel we call into the Tyrolean capital of Innsbruck. Surrounded by steep mountains, the city’s location is most impressive. Perhaps the most notable landmark is the Golden Roof from where the Emperor Maximilian 1 used to watch the events in the square below. We continue to our hotel in Kirchberg, Austria for a three night stay. B,D |

THURSDAY
- SALZBURG: Today join our excursion to the “Sound of Music” City, Salzburg. En route we make a stop at Hellbrunn Palace famed for its special fountains and historic gardens set against the spectacular backdrop of the Alps. In Salzburg you can enjoy free time to explore the quaint narrow shopping lanes and lovely squares and perhaps sample a Strudel and coffee in one of the many pavement cafes. Our optional guided walking tour is also a wonderful way to discover sights and sounds that have made this delightful city so famous. B,D |

FRIDAY-
LAKE ACHENSEE: It’s our final day in Austria. Join our optional scenic excursion along the Alpenstrasse to Lake Achensee, the largest lake in the Tyrol. Here you have some free time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. There is also the chance to take a cruise on the lake to take in the picturesque views. As we return to our hotel you have the choice to travel by coach, or for part of the way, ride on the Rack and Pinion railway (optional) from Seespitz to Jenbach which offers stunning views along the way. You will stay for three
nights at the 4- star Hotel Elisabeth in Kirchberg-in- Tyrol.
This superb hotel boasts a cosy bar, ideal for a relaxing
drink, a fine restaurant and all bedrooms are comfortably
furnished with T.V. and hairdryer. The hotel has a fabulous
indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and wellness area
and a delightful outdoor pool area as well. Overnight stays
in Belgium and in central Germany are in city-style hotels. |

PASSION PLAY ACCOMMODATION
ARRANGEMENTS: |
Tickets for the 2010 Passion
Play are only available as part of an official package. All
our holidays except the 7 day Bavarian Castles* itinerary
include accommodation for two nights in either Oberammergau
itself or the surrounding villages so you can arrive in Oberammergau
in good time the night before the play and afterwards have
time to reflect on the spectacle you have witnessed. Dinner
is included each night plus lunch before the Play commences.
*The 7 day Bavarian Castles itinerary, includes accommodation in the Oberammergau area for one night on the night of the performance and so you will travel to Oberammergau on the morning of the play from our hotel base in Reutte, which is about 11.2 hours away, arriving in time for lunch ahead of the play. |
