DAY 1:
UK to N. France To
Dover for the short crossing to Calais, then on to our overnight
stay. (D)
DAY 8:
Remagen to N. France We
return through Belgium before continuing to Northern France
for dinner and our final overnight stay. (B,D)
DAY 2: N. France to
Remagen Travelling
through Belgium into Germany, we take a break in the well-preserved
town of Monschau, one of the finest in Germany. We reach Remagen
in time for dinner and our six night stay. (B,D)
DAY 9: N. France to
UK To Calais
for the late morning ferry to Dover, from where we return
home. (B)
DAY 3 to 7: Remagen At leisure
in Remagen with three included excursions on board the region’s
scenic railways. Whilst in resort you can join our optional
excursions, or simply relax. (B,D)

Day: Ahr Valley Train Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the burgundy
wine valley with its steep terraces along the river
Ahr. We climb aboard Deutsche Bahn’s push-npull
service for the journey by diesel train from
Remagen to Altenahr and back with our local
guide.

Day: Vulcano Express An experience
to remember today as we ride on this privately-owned narrow
gauge railway up the Brohl Valley into the Eiffel Mountains,
climbing to 465 metres above sea level by diesel locomotive.
On arrival in Engeln, we continue by coach to Maria Laach,
with its outstanding Benedictine abbey, before returning
to Remagen.

Day: Boppard & Hunsrück Railway Enjoy a train journey from Boppard to
Emmelshausen on board the Hunsrück railway,
one of Germany’s steepest and most charming
stretches of mountain track. We continue to the
riverside resort of St Goar.
This purpose-built hotel
is but a short walk from the Rhine promenade, with its wonderful
walks and views of the River Rhine. Family run, the hotel
has been a firm favourite for many years, and you can be sure
of a warm and friendly welcome.
