and across to Calais, then into Northern France for dinner

Montrichard to N. France We stop
in Paris, en route to our overnight hotel in Northern France.

Montrichard A stop in
Orléans, then we head to Montrichard for our five night

DAY 7: N. France to UK We take
the morning ferry from Calais to Dover and then home. (B)
DAYS 3 to 6: Montrichard At leisure
in Montrichard. The mild climate of this region brings beautiful
flowers and an abundant harvest of fruit and wines. Dotted
along the river banks and set in beautiful countryside are
some absolute treasures, fairy-tale castles and delightful
gardens recalling grandeurs of a bygone era. Enjoy our programme

Full
Day: Châteaux and Gardens of the Loire A trip to Chenonceau Château.
Romantic and picturesque, it is most famed for its gallery
built like a bridge across the gently flowing River Cher.
The interior of the château is equally spectacular.
We also visit the Château at Villandry, built in the
16th century, incorporating the keep of an earlier fortress.
The formal style Renaissance gardens are laid out in colourful
geometric patterns with shrubs, flowers and fruit trees that
vary on a monthly basis.
Full Day: Loire Valley Tour We enjoy
a scenic drive along the River Loire, stopping at Saumur.
It is overlooked by its imposing fairytale château with
four tall corner towers which rises high above the town. Being
at the heart of one of the oldest vineyards in France it is
famous for its white wines. The town is also known for the
National Riding School, home to the elite cavalry regiment
the ‘Cadre Noir’.
