Your Guide... Cologne
Cologne’s floating market, aboard one of the cruise ships
moored along the Rhine promenade, is one of the city’s six,
making these markets some of the largest in Germany. Along
with the largest Christmas tree in the Rhineland, which is
decorated with twinkling lights, each of the markets has its
own particular character, offering different seasonal gifts
and decorations.
Christmas
Markets Cologne - Itinerary
DAY 1: Fly to
Cologne/Bonn airport where you’ll be met and transferred
to your hotel in Cologne for a three-night stay.
DAYS 2 & 3: On the
morning of Day 2, a local representative will meet you after
breakfast at your hotel and take you on an orientation walk
in the city so that you can get your bearings, see some
of the sights and know where to find the Christmas markets.
Then you have two days in Cologne to relax, explore and
enjoy the city. Visit the four main Christmas markets in
the inner city. At each one sample local delicacies as you
shop for some unusual gifts, and try a mulled wine to keep
the winter air at bay! There is also a floating market on
board the KD ship, the ‘Wappen von Mainz’, moored on the
Rhine bank, and during December a medieval market (small
charge) next to the world-famous Chocolate Museum. To summarise,
Cologne has everything for a perfect Advent break. 2xB
DAY 4:
Transfer
to Cologne/Bonn airport for your return flight home. B
