DAY 1: UK - Inflight
Fly from the UK to Singapore.
DAY 10: Marlborough Sounds Cruise & Christchurch
Cruise through the picturesque Marlborough and Queen Charlotte Sounds to the south island. Continue down the scenic east coast, pausing at a seal colony, to Christchurch. Overnight at Camelot Cathedral Square Hotel. (B,D)
DAY 2: Singerpore to Aukland
Arriving into Singapore, fly onwards to Auckland or enjoy your pre-tour extension. On arrival into Auckland, you will be transferred to the Mercure Hotel for two nights.
DAY 11: TranzAlpine Rail, Franz Josef & Fox Glaciers
Enjoy an unforgettable train journey on the TranzAlpine through the magnificent Southern Alps to Arthurs Pass. Continue on to Hokitika to see skilled craftsmen carving
Pounama (Jade) and then on to view the awesome Franz Josef Glacier. Overnight at the Scenic Circle Country Hotel, Fox Glacier. (B,D)
DAY 3: Auckland City Tour
Morning tour of Auckland city including the Domain, Viaduct harbour, Auckland Museum, Parnell and Devonport. Afternoon at leisure followed by welcome dinner at your hotel. (B,D)
DAY12: Haast Valley to Arrowtown & Queenstown
Travel through sub-tropical rain forest to Haast Pass. Visit popular Arrowtown, a quaint and historic gold mining town and continue on to Queenstown. Our hotel overlooks beautiful Lake Wakatipu and the ‘Remarkables’ mountain range. Stay for two nights at the Mercure Resort, Queenstown. (B,D)
DAY 4: Kauri Museum, Treaty House, Bay of Islands
Journey north to see the imposing Kauri Tree before visiting the Kauri Pioneer Museum. Arrive at the Bay of Islands for a guided tour of the historic Waitangi Treaty House, home to New Zealand’s founding document as a nation. Stay for two nights at Kingsgate Hotel Autolodge, Bay of Islands. (B,D)
DAY 13: Queenstown & TSS Earnslaw Cruise
With rugged mountains, majestic lakes and crystal clear air, Queenstown is breathtaking. Day at leisure to explore at your own pace. This evening we cruise Lake Wakatipu on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw with a sumptuous dinner, followed by sheep and farm dog demonstrations at Walter Peak High Country Station. (B,D)
DAY 5: Bay of Islands
Day at leisure to relax or explore at your own pace. Your Tour Director will assist with suggestions. (B)
DAY 14: Milford Sound Cruise & Te Anau
Travel through Fiordland National Park, where lush rain forests meet snow capped mountains and experience an unforgettable cruise on Milford Sound before returning to the lakeside town of Te Anau. Overnight at Luxmore Hotel. (B,D)
DAY 6: ‘Hole in the Rock’ Cruise to Auckland
Morning cruise to Cape Brett Lighthouse and through the famous ‘Hole in the Rock’. Return to Auckland and overnight at the Mercure Hotel. (B)
DAY 15: Dunedin & Olveston House
Journey to Dunedin, a university city of Scottish heritage and New Zealand’s oldest city with grandeur from a bygone era. Enjoy a guided tour of historic Olveston House. Overnight at Kingsgate Hotel, Dunedin. (B,D)
DAY 7: Mount Eden to Glowworm Caves, Rotorua & Maori Hangi
Journey to the top of Mount Eden, Auckland’s highest extinct volcano for spectacular views of the city and harbour, then head south through fertile farmland to the Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Board your boat to drift quietly beneath the lights of a thousand of glowworms. Continue to Whakarewarewa Forest for a relaxing stroll though the towering Californian Coastal Redwoods. Arrive in Rotorua, the heartland of New Zealand’s Maori culture where tonight you will be entertained at a traditional Maori cultural performance followed by a Hangi feast. Stay for two nights at the Ibis Hotel, Rotorua. (B,D)
DAY 16:Larnach Castle, Moeraki Boulders & Omarama
Enjoy a Dunedin city tour, before continuing on to Larnach Castle. Experience a guided tour of the castle with its tragic and fascinating history. On to the intriguing Moeraki Boulders, before following the Waitaki River to Omarama. Overnight at the Heritage Gateway. (B,D)
DAY 8:Gondola Ride, Thermal Reserve & Maori Art Centre
Enjoy spectacular views on your Gondola ride up to Skyline Restaurant for breakfast. Then continue on to the Agrodome for a sheep shearing and farm dog-trial show. Travel to the amazing Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley and the Maori Arts and Craft Institute. This afternoon you pick, at no extra costs, from these options: (1) Rotorua Museum visit (2) Polynesian Spa. Afternoon and evening at leisure. (B)
DAY 17: Mount Cook National Park to Lake Tekapo & Christchurch
Pass Lake Pukaki and stop to view Mount Cook. See the Church of the Good Shepherd perched on the shores of Lake Tekapo. On arrival at Christchurch we enjoy a sightseeing tour of the ‘City of Churches’. Stay for two nights at the Grand Chancellor, Christchurch.
DAY 18: Christchurch
Day at leisure to explore at your own pace. Enjoy tonight’s Farewell Dinner. (B,D)
DAY 9: Huka Falls to Lake Taupo, Te Papa & Wellington
See the Wairakei Geothermal Power Station, Huka Falls and Lake Taupo. Continue through Tongariro National Park as featured in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ movies. Continue to Wellington for a guided tour of Te Papa, New Zealand’s innovative national museum. Overnight at the Mercure Hotel, Wellington. (B,D)
DAY 19: Christchurch & Inflight
Fly to Singapore for your post-tour extension, or fly back to the UK. (B)
DAY 20: Arrive UK
Arrive back in the UK.
