DAY 1: UK to Northern France Dover, Calais, then to our hotel for three nights in Pont L’ Eveque.	DAY 4: Pont L’ Eveque to Northern France After breakfast we head north west across France’s coastline to our overnight hotel via pretty resort of Honfleur, known for its picturesque port, slate-covered houses that have inspired artists for years and the largest church constructed from wood in France. Full Day Normandy Landing Beaches A visit to the famous beaches that literally changed the course of the world and where the sense of history is inescapable. The beaches at Sword, Juno, Gold and Omaha the place where nearly 150,000 men descended to begin the liberation of Europe in June 1944. Gold was the codename for the centre of the five designated beaches and is more than five miles wide, while Omaha, the most famous and bloodiest landing beach, has cliffs still riddled with German bunkers. A museum behind the beach has exhibitions of weapons, uniforms, vehicles and tanks. Half Day Arromanches A morning visit to the small village of Arromanches near Bayeaux, where the remains of the famous 7-mile Mulberry Harbour that was used to land vast amounts of men, tanks and other heavy equipment are still clearly visible.
