DAY 1:
UK to Montreuil-sur-Mer From Dover for the crossing to Calais and
on to the Hotel Hermitage in Montreuilsur- Mer for a four
night stay.
DAY 5:
Montreuil-sur-Mer to UK After
breakfast we head back to Calais for the sailing to Dover
and then home. (B)
DAYS 2 to 4: Montreuil-sur-Mer At leisure in medieval Montreuil-sur-Mer. Our
two included excursions will give you the
opportunity to see the impressive cliffs, sandy
beaches and coastal views of the Opal coast
and visit Boulogne with a charming old town
and the historic port of Dunkirk; as well as
visiting the famous crystal factory at Arques
and an enjoyable boat trip. If you want to
explore further afield then join our optional
excursions to the Flemish town of Arras and
seaside Le Touquet. (B)
Included Excursions
Full Day to Dunkirk, the Opal Coast &
Boulogne We enjoy
a scenic drive along the Opal Coast, with impressive chalk
cliffs and panoramic Channel views. We stop at the historic
port of Dunkirk, associated with the evacuation of British,
French & Allied troops in 1940, and then continue to Boulogne,
with its charming old town and medieval ramparts. The rue
de Lille leads from the Cathedral and is lined with numerous
restaurants.
Full Day to Crystal d’Arques & ‘Le
Fontinette’ boat trip We enjoy
a day in the St Omer area with a tour of the world-famous
Crystal d’Arques, producing nearly six million pieces
daily, where you can hunt for bargains in the factory shop.
Then the boat ‘Le Fontinette’ will take us for
a pleasant trip along the nearby Aa canal.

Hotel Hermitage
- Montreuil-sur-Mer
This modern hotel has been
tastefully converted from a 13th century building and is ideally
located in the heart of the historic walled town of Montreuil-sur-Mer.
Victor Hugo was inspired to write the novel "Les Miserables"
whilst staying in this pretty town with its cobbled streets
and ramparts which offer superb views of the surrounding countryside.
Relax in the bar or take dinner in the newly opened restaurant,
Le Jeroboam.
