Excursions and visits
Day 3 Golden Pass Railway and Geneva (included)
Join our included ride on the magnificent Golden Pass Railway. Beginning our journey in Zweisimmen, we pass by the famous resorts of Gstaad and Château d’Oex. As we approach Montreux, the spectacular lake region begins to unfold below, revealing stunning views of the popular ‘Swiss Riviera’. The rest of the day is free in Geneva, where you can join an optional sightseeing tour.
Day 4 Zermatt (included) and Gornergrat Railway (optional)
The internationally- renowned resort village of Zermatt is spectacularly set below the Matterhorn. Enjoy a fantastic optional ride on the Gornergrat Rack Railway, which runs up the mountain above Zermatt, to Switzerland's highest open-air train station at 3089 metres high, Gornergrat, from where, weather permitting, there are superb views of the Matterhorn and Monte Rosa, the ‘pink mountain’.
Day 6 Ziller Valley Railway and Mayrhofen (included)
Sit back and relax as an old steam locomotive takes you through the panoramic Ziller Valley. In operation since 1902, the Zillertal Bahn is one of Austria’s most famous narrow gauge railways. On arrival, you will have time at leisure in the picturesque town of Mayrhofen, which nestles at the end of the Ziller Valley.
Day 7 Lake Achensee and the Achenseebahn (optional)
By coach along the scenic Alpenstrasse to the shore of the lovely Lake Achensee. Surrounded by pine-clad slopes, you will have time at leisure to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can also take an optional cruise on the serene waters of the lake, and a ride on the narrow gauge steam rack and pinion railway from Jenbach to Seespitz, which offers amazing views of the area.

Your Hotels
In Switzerland you stay for three nights at the 3-star family run Hotel Central Residence in Leysin. The hotel has a restaurant with terrace, snack bar, bar, lounge and all bedrooms have T.V., telephone and south-facing balconies with fantastic views of the Alps and the Dents du Midi. You’ll then stay for three nights in the Austrian Tyrol in the resort of Niederau at the 4-star Hotel Sonnschein, which has a lift, bar, lounge area and sun terrace. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool (subject to season), tennis and crazy golf (small charge), jacuzzi, sauna, solarium and fitness room. All bedrooms have T.V., telephone, radio, safe and hairdryer.
