Assmannshausen The Rhine Valley - Holiday Itinerary
DAY 1: UK to Belgium
To Belgium for our overnight stay. (D)
DAY 7: Assmannshausen to N. France
A unique opportunity this morning to cruise the legendary Rhine Gorge from Rüdesheim to Koblenz, a perfect finale to a wonderful holiday. Then to Northern France for an overnight stay. (B,D)
DAY 2: Belgium to Assmannshausen
A day of adventure today as we cross the border into Germany and join the Hunsrück railway, ascending the Rhine Valley to Boppard, known as the ‘Pearl of the Rhine’. After lunch we visit the old wine village of Bacharach before continuing to Assmannshausen. (B,D)
DAY 7: N. France to UK
To Calais, Dover and homewaerd bound (B)
DAYS 3 to 6: Assmannshausen
Enjoy a variety of excursions from our base in Assmannshausen, with its narrow streets and half-timbered houses. (B,D)

Full Day: Rhine & Moselle Valleys
A day of scenic delights along the famous Rhine and Moselle rivers as we tour the valleys by coach. We visit the bustling riverside village of Cochem, with its impressive hilltop castle and enjoy a relaxing cruise on the Moselle, a perfect way to take in the stunning scenery. There is also an opportunity for an optional tasting of Black Cat wine at Zell, a famous icon in German wines.
Full Day: Heidelberg
Visit the historic city of Heidelberg, home to the oldest university in Germany, dating from the 18th century. Nestling below a castle on the River Neckar, this beautiful town is famed as the setting for ‘the Student Prince’. The city survived the war intact and still has original buildings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Our local guide will be on hand to offer an optional guided walking tour of the city’s main sights.
