We join the MV Virginia in Cologne, where you’ll have time to explore the city or just relax on board the ship. The city’s most famous sight must be the Kölner Dom, a massive Gothic cathedral that dominates the skyline and is spectacularly lit by night. (B,L,D)
DAY 7: Koblenz to Rüdesheim
Through the spectacular Rhine Gorge, past the famous ‘Loreley’ rock, to reach the popular resort of Rüdesheim, with its crooked narrow streets and half-timbered houses. Experience traditional German entertainment in the taverns of the famous ‘Drosselgasse’. (B,L,D)

A day of leisurely cruising on the Rhine enjoying the beautiful scenery of vine-clad slopes and hilltop castles. (B,L,D)

To our overnight hotel for dinner. (B,D)
DAY 5: Alken to Cochem

MV Virginia
Offering a good standard of accommodation for over a hundred passengers, the Virginia has a well furnished dining room and a comfortable Promenade Deck lounge with a well appointed bar and an inviting dance floor. All 55 outward facing cabins have private facilities, air conditioning/heating, satellite TV in port and in-house videos while sailing, twin beds (except singles) and a continental type electricity socket (220V).
Whilst on board the Virginia you will receive buffet breakfast, with hot food available, a three course lunch and dinner, plus morning and afternoon tea/coffee. Prices are based on sharing a two berth cabin on the Rear Promenade/Main Deck (Grade C). Please note that supplements reflect the deck or cabin position and not the size of the cabin, except A+ cabins, which are larger. Grade C cabins may be subject to engine noise (only daytime sailing!). Due to steep stairs between decks, the ship is not suitable for people with walking difficulties (no stair lift).

Please note, that in the unlikely event circumstances (e.g. lock maintenance, weather conditions or water levels) the itinerary may have to be amended.
