Cruise Itinerary

DAY 1: UK to Porto
Flight from the UK to Porto, transfer to the Mecure Porto Centre for your overnight stay.

DAY 2: Porto
After breakfast, time to explore Porto, transfer to your ship and a welcome cocktail in the lounge. Dinner on board is followed by an optional excursion by coach to explore Porto by night.

DAY 3: Porto to Regua
An optional tour, ‘Discovering Porto’, in the morning, one of Europe’s oldest cities and a World Heritage Site. Narrow winding streets, arcaded houses, numerous churches and unspoilt old quarters give Porto a real charm of its own, while a highlight is undoubtedly its fine port wines, so a chance to visit a famous cellar is also included. An afternoon cruise to Regua passes the lush vineyards along the Douro and takes in Europe’s highest locks at Crestuma and Carrapatelo. Gala dinner on board in the evening.

DAY 4: Regua to Vega de Teron (Spain)
An early morning departure sees us head to Tavora for the optional ‘wines of Porto’ excursion. Lunch is provided in Ferradossa before the cruise to Vega de Teron past rugged landscapes and mighty rocky gorges.

DAY 5: Vega de Teron
After breakfast there’s an optional excursion to the World Heritage Site of Salamanca, a beautiful old town full of Romanesque, Arab and Christian architecture.

DAY 6: Vega de Teron – Ferradossa – Tavora – Bitetos
An early morning departure to cruise to Pinhão for the optional Vila Real excursion, where the stunning religious architecture can be enjoyed. Further down river there’s an opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens of Solar de Mateus, before returning on board for the sail to Bitetos.

DAY 7: Bitetos to Porto
A return sail to Porto before disembarkation after breakfast and a transfer to Mercure Porto Centre for an overnight stay. Spend your day at leisure exploring this wonderful Portugese city.

DAY 8: Porto to UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.

Your Ship: MS Fernão de Magalhães
Built in 2003 the MS Fernão de Magalhães, part of the CrosiEurope fleet, provides modern, superbly appointed accommodation and facilities for 142 passengers. Of the 71 cabins, 38 double cabins can be found on the Upper Deck, 18 on the Middle Deck and 15 on the Main Deck. All are fully equipped with en suite facilities, shower, hairdryer, satellite TV radio, safe, central heating/air conditioning, 220v electricity and radiophone. Delicious food served on board includes an extensive buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner with French inspiration. There is also a fine wine menu available on board.

On-board facilities include a lounge bar with dance floor, bar, dining room, gift shop, lift, panorama bar, a large sun deck with deckchairs and even a swimming pool.
