We travel to Eze and the
Fragonard perfume factory. Join our tour to sample and buy
perfume at fabulous prices. Next, we go to Nice, with some
free time to explore or simply stroll along the Promenade
des Anglais.
St. Paul de Vence and
Cannes (included).
St. Paul de Vence is a
beautiful fortified medieval village, known as the home of
artists such as Renoir, Chagall and Matisse. Wander the cobblestoned
streets, admire the paintings, craft shops and boutiques,
and soak up the atmosphere of a village dating back to the
1500s. We end the day in Cannes, famed for the International
Film Festival. Feel like a film star on the Boulevard de la
Croisette, with hotels, boutiques and gardens on one side,
and glorious beaches on the other.
Monaco and Monte Carlo
(optional).
In the morning we visit
the Principality of Monaco; its eight square miles form the
smallest, and almost certainly the wealthiest, sovereign state
in the world. It also has one of the few autocratic monarchies
left in the world. The afternoon is at leisure in probably
the most famous part of Monaco, Monte Carlo. If you feel lucky,
take a chance in the Grand Casino, with its lavish interiors
decorated in the striking Belle Epoque style.
Santa Margherita and
Portofino (optional).
We visit Santa Margherita’s
marinas, shops and Basilica di Santa Margherita. We then take
a boat trip from Santa Margherita to Portofino (weather permitting).
Once a refuge for struggling artists, the town is now one
of Italy’s most fashionable resorts. The harbour is moored
with expensive ocean-going yachts, and its pedestrian-only
streets are crammed with a galaxy of designer names and stylish
restaurants. If the weather prevents the boat trip from operating,
then we will visit the seaside resort of Alassio on the return
journey instead.
Flying

If you prefer you can choose
to travel by air.
Take a ‘flying start’ and join the tour directly on day
2, and/or choose a ‘flying return’ departing for home on
day 8. Flights are to/from Nice. Please call for full details
of flights/prices.

Your Hotels
You’ll stay for six nights
at the 3-star Hotel Iva, in a residential area overlooking
Diano Marina. The Barla family ensure a warm welcome to all
of our guests. This charming hotel has a lift, large lounge,
dining room and sun terrace. The hotel is close to the beach
and town. All bedrooms have T.V., hairdryer, safe and telephone.
The hotel also has an annexe located across the road where
the rooms are situated on two levels only, but there is no
lift.
Silver Service will stay at the 3-star Hotel Delle Mimose
in Diano Marina for six nights on an all inclusive basis.
Run by its British owner, Raymond, the hotel is located close
to the town and within walking distance of the sea. The hotel
has a lift, bar, air conditioned, restaurant and swimming
pool. All bedrooms have T.V., telephone, safe, tea/coffee
making facilities and balcony.
Overnight stays for both hotel options are in northern France
in city-style hotels.
