Included Excursions

Full Day: Travelling through the North Yorkshire Moors via Helmsley to Thornton-le-Dale. A historic market town where you can admire a much photographed thatched cottage – one of a very few remaining in this area of Yorkshire. On then to Castle Howard, a magnificent stately home set in acres of breathtaking parkland. The eighteenth century mansion is home to many world renowned treasures including famous paintings, antiquities, furniture and tapestries that have been collected by successive generations of the Howard family for over 300 years. Castle Howard is also famous for being ‘Brideshead’ in the classic TV series and film.

Half Day: Jaunt to the colourful fishing port of Whitby which effortlessly combines a fascinating history, ruined abbey and working harbour with sandy beaches, rock pools and traditional seaside attractions. Not to mention some of the best fish and chips in the world! We return by way of the North Yorkshire Moors.
