medieval city, and can be explored on
foot, with its canals, meandering cobbled
lanes and hidden medieval almshouses.
From Bruges you have the opportunity to
join an afternoon excursion to the fortified
town of Sluis, in the rural province of
Zeeland, Holland. Discover the rich
architecture, elegant shops and cultural
heritage and climb Holland’s only bell
tower for a spectacular view of the
picturesque surrounding countryside. |

Spend a morning at leisure in Ostend.
Take a stroll along the promenade, where
you can admire the Royal monuments.
This afternoon, we head to the town of
Ypres. See the market square, overlooked
by the dominating reconstructed medieval
Cloth Hall with its impressive 70-metrehigh
belfry, or perhaps visit the most
important war memorial in Ypres, the
Menin Gate. |
