DAY 1:
Door-to-Door departure, then travel overnight through France.

DAY 2:
Arrive at our hotel in Chianciano Terme for a six-night stay. The town itself is made up of two distinct parts – the spa town with its relaxing gardens and the Old Town, where quiet, narrow streets lined with pretty houses wind their way around the medieval castle. D

DAY 3: Siena and San Gimignano
A full-day optional excursion to two delightful Tuscan towns. Siena offers a myriad of delights, and is one of the highlights of any visit to Tuscany. Explore the Piazza del Campo and see the famous Duomo. We continue to the charming hilltop town of San Gimignano, with its beautiful views over the rolling Tuscan countryside. B,D

DAY 4: Rome
A highlight of our tour, we include a full-day excursion to the eternal city of Rome. Take in the breathtaking architecture of the ancient palaces and piazzas. Our optional sightseeing tour by foot and by coach will introduce you to the principal sights of the city including the Trevi Fountain and Colosseum. B,D

DAY 5: Assisi and Lake Trasimeno
A full-day included excursion around Umbria, the 'Green Heart of Italy'. First, we head to Assisi, world famous as the native town of St. Francis. Visit the Basilica featuring frescoes by Giotto, before a scenic drive through the Umbrian countryside to beautiful Lake Trasimeno, the largest Italian lake south of the River Po. B,D

DAY 6: Florence
Included excursion to Florence, the artistic capital of Italy with fashionable shops, museums, cafés and splendid architecture. Join our optional guided tour to get the most from your visit. Travel by coach up to the hills for a magnificent panoramic view of the city and surrounding countryside, then return to the city, where your guide will lead you on a walking tour. B,D

DAY 7: Tuscan Countryside
A leisurely morning before we enjoy an optional scenic drive around the Tuscan countryside. This rolling landscape is dotted with pretty villages. We make stops in Montepulciano, Pienza and Montalcino, famous for its wine and a town so typical of the region. B,D

DAY 8:
We leave Chianciano and begin our overnight journey north. B

DAY 9:
To Calais and return home via our Door-to-Door service.

You'll stay for six-nights at the 3-star Hotel Astra in Chianciano Terme. The hotel has a bar, lounge and restaurant (although evening meals may be taken in the Hotel Cristallo, which is situated next door). Guests have free use of the swimming pool and spa at the Hotel Cristallo. The hotel includes a welcome drink and on one evening, a typical Tuscan dinner with music.
