Day 3 Barcelona (included); Guided

We travel to the
fascinating city of Barcelona, capital of the
Catalonia region. Enjoy the relaxed
atmosphere, particularly along Las
Ramblas, a pedestrianised street that leads
down towards the port, and is popular
with street entertainers. Join our optional
guided tour to see Barcelona’s many sights
such as Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia, a
spectacular church begun in 1882 and still
under construction today! |
Day 4 Montserrat (optional) |
Known locally as the ‘serrated mountain’,
this mountain-top Benedictine monastery
dates back to the 9th century. Its beautiful
Basilica and turbulent history make it a
fascinating place to visit. |
Day 5 Costa Brava Coastal Tour
(optional) |
We travel north to Tossa de
Mar. Within the medieval walls are
fishermen’s cottages, a 14th-century
church and plenty of bars. We continue to
Lloret de Mar, the busiest and liveliest
resort on the Costa Brava. |
Day 6 Catalan Country Tour
(optional) |
We head to the cool of the
wooded hills of Catalonia, accompanied by
our local guide visiting local villages.
During our day a delicious typical Catalan
lunch will be served. |
Day 7 Girona and Besalu (optional) |
Our first stop is the charming town of
Girona on the bank of the River Onyar.
Colourful houses line the river front and
behind them is the Old Town with its
imposing Gothic cathedral, and maze of
narrow streets. We then make our way to
the medieval town of Besalu. |
| Your Hotels |
You’ll stay for six nights at the 3-star Hotel Florida Park, close to the town centre, shops and beaches of Santa Susanna, on the Costa del Maresme. The hotel is ideally located for our excursion programme or personal exploration, with a regular train service along the coast to many of the resorts. There are lifts, a large bar area, lounge, restaurant, sun terrace, outdoor swimming pool and indoor leisure complex, including swimming pool (daily charge). The hotel provides a regular entertainment programme during the day and evening. All bedrooms have T.V., telephone, air-conditioning and safe. Overnight
stays in the Paris area will be in
city-style hotels. |
