DAY 1: ARRIVE ISTANBUL (2)
On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Later attend a Welcome Briefing with your Trafalgar Representative. Hotel: Dedeman (SF) (2 nights)

DAY 2: ISTANBUL SIGHTSEEING
Your full day starts with a visit to the impressive Topkapi Palace, which has a superb position overlooking the Bosphorus. Then to the magnificent St. Sophia's Basilica built originally by Constantine the Great. After lunch, visit the fascinating and impressive Blue Mosque, famous for its six minarets and beautiful blue Iznik tiles. Then visit the Byzantine Hippodrome where chariot races and competitive athletic events took place. (BB)

DAY 3: ISTANBUL – GALLIPOLI – CANAKKALE
We depart for Gallipoli and visit the poignant sites of the battlefields where many of the fiercest battles of World War I took place including Anzac Cove. (BB D) Hotel: Kolin (SF)

DAY 4: CANAKKALE – TROY – PERGAMON – IZMIR
This morning visit the legendary city of Troy, immortalised by Homer in the stories of King Priamus, Hector, Paris and the beautiful Helen. See the archaeological excavations that have revealed nine separate periods of settlement and, of course, the symbolic replica wooden Trojan horse that commemorates the epic war machine that was constructed in the 13th century BC. Then stop at the ancient kingdom of Pergamon where you will visit the Asclepion Medical Centre. Then continue on to your hotel. (BB D) Hotel: Swiss Hotel (SF)

DAY 5: IZMIR – EPHESUS – VIRGIN MARY’S HOUSE - PAMUKKALE
First to the ancient city of Ephesus where our walking tour includes the Great Theatre, which was built by the Romans between 41 and 117 AD and is still used today, the Temple of Hadrian, guarded by a head of Medusa, and the House of the Virgin Mary. Then on to Pamukkale where you can relax and enjoy the blissful thermal pools at our hotel. (BB D) Hotel: Pam Hotel (F)

DAY 6: PAMUKKALE – HIERAPOLIS – BURSA
After breakfast we will drive to Pamukkale, famous for its chalk-white array of fantastically shaped limestone. We visit the ancient ruins of Hierapolis, then continue north to the city of Bursa. (BB D) Hotel: Thermal Kervansaray (F)

DAY 7: BURSA – ISTANBUL
Visit the Green Ottoman Complex this morning and the old silk market. Then cross the Marmara Sea and return to Istanbul where you will visit the vast and bustling Grand Bazaar. Tonight enjoy a Farewell Dinner with your fellow travellers. (BB FD) Hotel: Dedeman Istanbul/Holiday Inn Sisli (SF)

DAY 8: DEPART ISTANBUL
