1: ARRIVE ISTANBUL
Welcome to one of the most interesting and dynamic cities in the world - Istanbul!
You are met and transferred to your hotel. Relax after your journey and in the evening attend a Welcome Reception with your Travel Director and meet your fellow travellers.

2: ISTANBUL – GALLIPOLI – CANAKKALE
Explore the Gallipoli Peninsula and see Anzac Cove, the site of a bitter battle in WWI. Visit Lone Pine Cemetery, the final resting place of many allied soldiers. See the Dardanelles and stay overnight in Çanakkale. (BB D) Hotel: Kolin/Tusan (SF)

3: CANAKKALE – TROY - PERGAMON – IZMIR (SMYRNA)
In Troy, we see the famous legendary Wooden Horse before a visit to the Acropolis
of ancient Pergamon. Then we continue south to Izmir where we have dinner in our

4: IZMIR – EPHESUS – ST. MARY’S HOUSE – PAMUKKALE
Today we visit the extensive excavations at Ephesus with its 2,000 year old marble
streets. Our journey continues, pausing at Virgin Mary’s stone cottage, to Pamukkale.

5: PAMUKKALE – HIERAPOLIS – ANTALYA (2)
First to the health spa of Hierapolis, then we have an afternoon arrival in the coastal town
of Antalya. The rest of the day is free to explore the narrow streets of the fascinating old

6: ANTALYA – PERGE AND ASPENDOS EXCURSION
We visit the impressive Antalya Archaeological Museum, one of the most important
in Europe. Then to the Roman cities of Perge and Aspendos where we see the best
preserved Roman theatre in the world. (BB D)
DAY
7: ANTALYA – KONYA
This morning drive inland and enjoy a 'Be My Guest' lunch in a 100 year old traditional
Ottoman style house hosted by a local family. Visit the Mevlana Museum and
Mausoleum, the final resting place for members of the Whirling Dervish mystic sect.
You will also be able to see the final resting place of Mevlana, the founder of this

8: KONYA – CAPPADOCIA (2)
Today, after a short drive, your first visit is to the very well preserved Sultanhan
Caravansary. Journey on to biblical Cappadocia, then you visit the underground city

9: CAPPADOCIA – URGUP AND GOREME EXCURSION
Spend the day exploring the volcanic landscape in and around Urgup, dotted with caves and troglodyte dwellings. Visit the Goreme Open-air Museum and learn about pottery making in Avanos. (BB D)

10: CAPPADOCIA – ANKARA
This morning drive westwards from Cappadocia to the Turkish capital city, Ankara.
Here enjoy a guided sightseeing tour which includes the mausoleum of Ataturk.

11: ANKARA – GORDION – BURSA
First stop is Gordion, city of King Midas. Then to Bursa, to visit the Green Ottoman

12: BURSA – ISTANBUL (2)
Board your ferry to cross the Sea of Marmara to Istanbul. The rest of your day is free to
explore the vast bustling Grand Bazaar, which is one of the largest covered markets in
the world with more than 58 streets and 4,000 shops specialising in jewellery, pottery,

13: ISTANBUL SIGHTSEEING
This morning we enjoy a guided tour which includes a visit to Topkapi Palace,
the church of Hagia Sophia and the wondrous Blue Mosque. Later we enjoy a
Farewell Dinner with our Tour Director and travelling companions. (BB FD)
DAY 14: DEPART ISTANBUL
Time to bid farewell to Turkey and your Tour Director as we transfer you to the
