DAYS 4 TO 6: Montecatini
At leisure in Montecatini - the resort boasts nine spas, which for hundreds of years has been the town's main source of income. Over the years famous people like Verdi, Princess Grace, Orson Welles and Clark Gable made it a yearly tradition to come and enjoy the full spa treatment. The town has broad leafy avenues, lush green gardens, and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants for a snack or a quiet drink. There is a funicular which goes up to the old town, from where you can enjoy the wonderful views and historical buildings. Montecatini is perfectly located for exploring some of Tuscany's main sights and attractions, and we welcome you on our included excursions to Florence, the Renaissance Jewel, as well as the typical Tuscan treasures of Pisa and Lucca. There will also be a selection of optional excursions for your added enjoyment, to discover even more of this part of Tuscany. Why join us on our optional excursion to Siena and see Il Campo, the shell-shaped square, where the famous bare back horse race, Il Palio, takes place every year. (B,D)

Included Excursions
Full Day Florence
Enjoy an included guided walking tour of Florence, picturesquely set on both sides of the River Arno and surrounded by the foothills of the scenic Apennines. Highlights of the city include the main square, Piazza della Signoria and the Uffizi art gallery. Not to be missed is the magnificent Duomo, Florence's mighty cathedral. Walk along the narrow streets and imagine the medieval world of wealthy bankers, noblemen and craftsmen who built Florence's fine palaces, churches and the peculiar Ponte Vecchio. Cross this quaint bridge, spanning the river Arno, and admire the colourful jewellers' shops.
Full Day Pisa and Lucca
Discover two of Tuscany's most traditional cities on this excursion. Pisa, home of the breathtaking Leaning Tower, has a wealth of other attractions that are often overlooked. The Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles) houses some medieval masterpieces, like the Cathedral, the Baptistry and the Camposanto, often referred to as the most beautiful cemetery in the world. Lucca is the most gracious of Tuscany's provincial capitals, set inside a ring of Renaissance walls, fronted by gardens and huge bastions. Easily explored by foot, you can stroll along the numerous narrow alleyways and attractive squares that add immense character and atmosphere to the town. The main sights include the Piazza Napoleone, the town centre, the Duomo di San Martino, the cathedral, and the church of San Giovanni. Explore at leisure or join an optional guided walking tour to give you an introduction to the city's main sights.
