We go on to visit delightful Sherborne, home to two castles and many medieval buildings. Full Day: Today we follow in Thomas Hardy’s footsteps, passing Max Gate to visit Stinsford, where Hardy’s heart and both wives are buried. We pass Puddletown Forest, quaint Tolpuddle and bustling Wareham to visit pretty Swanage. Half Day: We visit the harbour village of West Bay, situated on the beautiful Jurassic Coast. It is renowned for fossil hunting and the famous sandstone East Cliff at West Bay exposes 180 million years of history.
